Let's talk about the European Youth Card. This card will give you the chance to enjoy your experience abroad the fullest thanks to their discounts in over 37 countries all over the world. 

How the card works

First things first. The card is completely free if you live in Madrid. 
You should know that the card has different names in different countries. In Spain it’s called Carnet Joven.
The card is issued and managed by organizations that are members of the European Youth Card Association (EYCA). This organization gives thousands of discounts on travel, culture, accommodation, education, services and products in 36 countries across Europe.
Plus, in every country there are hundreds of programmes and opportunities for volunteering, learning, employment, entrepreneurship and many other things that help you along your way.

How to get the card

You don’t have to be a student to get the card. It’s available to all young people under the age of 31 or 26, depending on your country.

You can get your card online:
If you have a certificate and digital signature, you can request your conventional Youth Card at this link. It will arrive by mail to your home. (https://sede.comunidad.madrid/autorizaciones-licencias-permisos-carnes/carne-joven)

You can get your card in person:

• Youth Office Community of Madrid (Moncloa District): C / Fernando el Católico nº 88, Monday to Friday from 9 to 19 hours from April to September / 9 to 14 hours from October to March. No appointment is necessary.
• Youth Office Community of Madrid (Salamanca District): C / General Díaz Porlier nº 35, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
• In any of the more than 75 points of issuance of Youth Card throughout the Community of Madrid. Check schedules, locations and possible limitations before attending.

Renfe

For us, this is the best discount you will get as an international student that wants to discover the country. The train company “Renfe” allows young people to get an extra discount on their tickets if they have the European Youth Card. To use the discount you only have to click on the discount “joven menor de 26” in the personal information label when you buy your ticket.
The day of your trip you will have to show your ID + your card in the security line. 
*** You should be under 26 to get this discount. Not everyone with their European Youth Card will be able to use this discount.

MRW

The perfect discount for the travelers. They provide a 20% discount on the PVP of the official rate in MRW services: shipment of suitcases/backpacks, and shipments of Bag 19 parcels, Urgent 19/Portugal. This is the perfect discount for international students. 

Teatro Calderón Madrid
